i'm thinking I was wrong
Tuesday, 6 December 2011
and you carry those bruises to remind you wherever you go
You can gaze out the window get mad and get madder,
throw your hands in the air, say "What does it matter?"
but it don't do no good to get angry,
so help me, I know
For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter.
You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there
wrapped up in a trap of your very own
chain of sorrow.

"It's no good trying to get rid of your own aloneness. You've got to stick to it all your life. Only at times, at times, the gap will be filled in. At times! But you have to wait for the times. Accept your own aloneness and stick to it, all your life. And then accept the times when the gap is filled in, when they come. But they've got to come. You can't force them." -D. H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley’s Lover

“In eight years not a day has gone by when she hasn’t thought of him. She misses him and she wants him back. I want my best friend back, she thinks, because without him nothing is good and nothing is right.”

can officially cross anne frank's diary off of the list.
an amazing read, I actually feel like I know her now.
she was an incredibly intelligent girl of 13-14-15 and her understanding of life beats that of many 'grown ups' living today.
such a tragic way in which the story ends, the last diary entry is so innocent and unsuspecting of the raid which follows the next day.
it is a book that everybody needs to read in their life time. definitely.

Karl Pilkington
These days, when people are born with three arms or four legs, doctors try to whip em off. I wonder if we're interfering with nature too much. Maybe the human body is trying to evolve to cope with modern life. We now live in a world where we have to multitask, so what could be better than having three arms? The Elephant Man has a really big thick skull. Maybe this was nature's way of evolving us so we don't have to a wear a helmet when we get on a bike. His brain would have had that much protection, he wouldn't have needed one. I look at some of these disabilities as superpowers.

actually, I meant three
"I thought about all the things that everyone ever says to each other, and how everyone is going to die, whether it’s in a millisecond, or days, or months, or 76.5 years, if you were just born. Everything that’s born has to die, which means our lives are like skyscrapers. The smoke rises at different speeds, but they’re all on fire, and we’re all trapped."

Actual life was chaos, but there was something terribly logical in the imagination. It was the imagination that set remorse to dog the feet of sin. It was the imagination that made each crime bear its misshapen brood. In the common world of fact the wicked were not punished, nor the good rewarded. Success was given to the strong, failure thrust upon the weak. That was all.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day Eleven
A song from your favourite band:
Anything she releases I fall in love with, including her Christmas album which, if it was socially acceptable, I would listen to all year round. Plus I want her hair. The old red do.

A song that makes you fall asleep

His voice goes on forever in this song and then finishes gently just at the right time. Luffly.

remember when we used to play bang bang
its like bloody sunday means nothing now
its just a common occurrence in the modern world
its just a common occurrence in the modern world
you read all kinds of books and see all kinds of movies about the man who is obsessed and devoted, whose focus is a single solid beam, same as the lighthouse and that intense, too. it is heathcliff with catherine. it is a vampire with a passionate love stronger than death. we crave that kind of focus from someone else. we’d give anything to be that “loved.” but that focus is not some soul-deep pinnacle of perfect devotion - it’s only darkness and the tormented ghosts of darkness. it’s strange, isn’t it, to see a person’s gaping emotional wounds, their gnawing needs, as our romance? we long for it, i don’t know why, but when we have it, it is a knife at our throat on the banks of greenlake

Tears and Rain
Is it possible to be so deep that you become shallow?
"You used to stir my imagination. Now you don't even stir my curiosity. You simply produce no effect. I loved you because you were marvellous, because you had genius and intellect, because you realised the dreams of great poets and gave shape and substance to the shadows of art. You have thrown it all away. You are shallow and stupid."
"How little you can know of love, if you say it mars your art! Without your art you are nothing."
Dorian totally contradicts himself, as it is clear that his love for art has dictated his love for Sibyl Vane.
